Artificial Grass

Let’s get you up to speed on everything you need to know about artificial grass.

Useful Info Regarding Artificial Grass

Artificial grass is a man-made replica of traditional living grass.  The artificial aspect of the product makes it superior to living grass in a number of ways.  Let’s cover all of the ways artificial grass will benefit you, no matter where you plan to install artificial grass.

Welcome to Artificial Turf 101.

Artificial Grass Is Already Ready For Use

You see the artificial turf on the surface, what you don’t see is the substrate which can include padding but will always include drainage.

Padding is great for applications such as playgrounds where the added cushion is ideal, but padding is not required to install artificial turf.

Proper drainage under your turf is essential.  When artificial grass is installed properly water will flow freely through the turf into the drainage system below.  This means no standing water or mud!

Artificial Grass Is Soft and Comfortable

Fake grass in 2020 and beyond has come along way from when it was 1st introduced.  The turf nowadays is very soft to the touch.  It is very comfortable to walk on or lay out a blanket and have a picnic on.

Artificial Grass Is Clean and Allergen Free

When your grass is installed, it will be brand new.  Keeping it looking like new is as easy as hosing it down when in need.  No allergens are contained in our turf.

Artificial Grass Is Safe For Children and Pets

There is nothing to worry about as far as safety is concerned with your artificial grass and your children or pets.  Let them roam free and roll around if they wish.

Artificial Grass Is Suitable For Numerous Applications

The sky is the limit when it comes to use-cases for artificial grass.  Putting greens are a very popular application.  Many homeowners and commercial facilities choose artificial turf as the flooring material for their pet areas.

In recent years playgrounds have been replacing the mulch or rubber mulch with artificial turf.  Making the switch to artificial grass instead of mulch or rubber mulch eliminates the possibilities of pieces washing or being tracked out of its designated area.

Other applications include lawn and landscapes, and of course, athletic fields, indoor and outdoor.

Are There Any Cons To Artificial Grass?

We’d love to say no, but there are a couple of things some people may consider a con and we wanted to provide the most accurate information possible.

You won’t get the ‘fresh grass cut smell’ with artificial turf.  The pro side of this is that you don’t have to cut your artificial grass either!

Artificial grass does require a little maintenance.  As mentioned above, from time to time you will need to sweep or hose down your artificial turf to keep it looking its best.

Artificial grass does not last forever.  After years of use and withstanding the elements if outdoors, typically 10 years or more, it will probably be time to replace your turf.  The good news is, the majority of the work was completed during the initial installation and only the replacement of the turf on top will be required making this much cheaper than the initial installation.
